Lazy

I couldn’t work out on Sunday and didn’t make it to the gym today either… Hopefully I’ll get either bike or gym day in tomorrow, otherwise it won’t be until Wednesday and my next PT appointment… :(

Gym

Hit the gym early Saturday morning. The place was empty! Which was nice.

I biked for 20 minutes… the longest sustained time on the exercise bike so far. Then did some arms, shoulders and back before calling it quits.

PT (cont.)

Another good day of PT. I graduated to the eliptical machine from the bike today. Yeah progress! Doing squats has become easier. Balance is improving.

I love PT. It’s basically like a personal training session that my health insurance pays for!

PT

Good PT this morning… was kindof out of it when I woke up, but felt great after the work out. Did 10 minutes on level 10 on the bike to warm up. Then multiple sets of leg presses on the pilates machine… followed by single leg wall squats and hamstring bridges.

There’s definite muscle growth in my right quad… starting to get some definition back. It’s still much weaker than my left one. But it’s getting there.

Workout:

  • Type: Strength Training
  • Date: 09/10/2008
  • Time: 09:00:00
  • Total Time: 1:00:00.00

WHAT UP?

Hi Everyone,

This is my first training blog entry… although I use the term “training” loosely since I haven’t even begun yet.

My current situation: I had surgery on July 25 to repair a torn meniscus in my right knee. I tore this same meniscus and had the same surgery back in January. My physical therapist, Jill, thinks I’m still 4-6 weeks away from running and jumping. But…

I have decided I want to compete in and complete a triathlon! I realized it really helps motivate me to exercise and work out if I have a goal. And right now, my goal is a triathlon!

Despite my wife’s misgivings, it’s on like Donkey Kong! If only my brother B (http://Manatarka.sweat365.com/files/2008/09/me-and-b.jpg) and my brother-from-another-mother Nelly (http://Manatarka.sweat365.com/files/2008/09/heidi_andrew.JPG) will do it with me, we’ll be good to go!

That’s all for now… time to do some rehab on the knee and get a wetsuit!
